A Spiritual Journey
Honoring the Hands That Came Before Us
Some collections begin with a color palette. Others begin with a sketch or a single eye-catching bead. The Golden Moon Harvest Collection began with a remembrance.
Over the past several months, I have found myself walking a path of deep reflection. My spiritual journey has been unfolding for some time (with many self-discoveries along the way), but life has a way of placing us at crossroads that invite us to look inward with fresh eyes and shifted perspective.
Just a few weeks ago, I heard my beloved grandmother's final words before leaving for a family vacation. She was in hospice, and although I knew our time together was precious, there is never a moment that truly prepares your heart. On the second day of our trip, my mother called to tell me that my grandmother had completed her earthly journey and joined the ancestors.
Grief has a swift way of clearing away distractions. It makes us face difficult questions, reveals hidden truths, and reminds us what matters most. Even in sorrow, I found profound gratitude. I was blessed to tell my grandmother that I loved her before I left. When the news came, I was surrounded by family who wrapped me in comfort and compassion. Those gifts did not erase the sting, but they became gentle hands guiding me through it.
Since her celebration of life, my thoughts have lingered often with those who came before me. I think about the foremothers and forefathers whose strength (I hope) echoes through my own life. Some I know by name. A precious few smile back at me from treasured photographs. Others live on through stories passed down by my family. Yet countless more remain beyond our memory. Their names may have been forgotten, their faces lost to time, but their legacy lives on in every generation they made possible. I strive to make them alive through me. As the ancient Egyptians said, “To speak of the dead is to make them live again”, and so I speak of my ancestors everyday. I speak of them in my thoughts and my devotions. I carry their memories inside of me and I am proud of that!
That reflection became the heartbeat of The Golden Moon Harvest Collection.
October has long been a season of remembrance. Alongside the warmth of harvest festivals and the playful spirit of Halloween—a holiday dear to me—are traditions across many cultures that honor loved ones who have crossed beyond this life. Whether through ancestral remembrance, the beauty of Día de los Muertos, or the Christian observances of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, this season invites us to pause, remember, and give thanks for the lives that shaped our own.
I wanted this collection to embrace that spirit with reverence and joy. Some pieces celebrate the mystery of moonlit forests and autumn evenings while others quietly honor the sacred thread connecting us to those who were here before us. I even chose to include designs inspired by Christian traditions of remembrance alongside pieces celebrating ancestral reverence, because love for those who have gone before us is a language spoken across many faiths and cultures.
Every necklace, bracelet, pair of earrings, and keepsake in this collection was created with gratitude in my heart. Gratitude for my grandmother, for my ancestors, and for every person whose courage, sacrifice, prayers, dreams, and perseverance made my life possible.
My hope is that when you wear a piece from The Golden Moon Harvest Collection, it becomes more than jewelry. May it become a quiet reminder that your story began long before you took your first breath. May it remind you that your roots run deep and your bloodline carries wisdom, resilience, beauty, and strength. Whether you know every branch of your family tree or only a handful of names, you are part of a legacy that deserves to be remembered and celebrated!
After all, each of us came from something extraordinary. May we honor those who walked before us... and may we leave behind a legacy worthy of those who will one day walk after us.
